Heather Keen
Heather is the Strategic Development Director for Marimn Health. As such, she is responsible for managing and implementing special projects, developing community partnerships, and managing all communications and public relations activities for the medical center and wellness center.
Heather brings 15 years of experience in public relations, communications, and government. Prior to joining the team at Marimn Health, she served as the Public Relations Director for the Coeur d’Alene Tribe for six years. There she was the primary spokesperson for the Tribe and worked closely with reporters and editors at local, regional, and national media outlets to generate positive press stories regarding the Tribe. In addition, Heather managed the Tribe’s philanthropic giving and community partnerships, worked closely on legislative initiatives affecting the Tribe, and facilitated collaborative relationships between the Tribe and local and regional organizations.
Prior to working for the Coeur d’Alene Tribe, Heather worked with companies and organizations throughout the northwest, assisting them with public affairs, government relations, and communications issues. In addition to her experience in the private sector, Heather has an intimate knowledge of the federal government, having worked in Washington, D.C. as a legislative assistant and policy adviser within the United States Congress.
Heather holds a master’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Idaho and graduated with honors from Colorado State University with a bachelor’s degree in Political Science. She is involved in the Coeur d’Alene community and currently serves on the board of directors for the Ray & Joan Salvation Army Kroc Center. She was a founding board member for the Kootenai County Young Professionals. She is a graduate of Leadership Coeur d’Alene 2017 and continues to serve on the Leadership Coeur d’Alene Steering Committee for the Coeur d’Alene Chamber of Commerce.
In her spare time, Heather and her husband enjoy the outdoors and can often be found hiking, mountain biking, snowboarding, or backpacking with their dog.
